Ari is almost 22 months old, he has changed so much since birth it's been really incredible. He is an incredible boy, he has always been an incredible boy since the moment of his birth. I am so priveledged to care for him and get to spend as much time with him as I do. That being said life is challenging too.
Today we woke up around 6:30 and went downstairs, got around to making breakfast which for me everyday is coffee & a toasted sandwich of peanut btter and banana, Ari had oatmeal with yogurt, rasperries, maple syrup and cinnamon, and some toast. For about 2 hours everything was going well, then we hit a roadblock of changing the diaper which he just refused even though I could smell a poop- lovely- and the battle began. This is the part that can be so frustrating. Thankfully mommy got up and changed and dressed him. We played in our driveway with Leah (5), Ona (3), our neighbor Madhu and her cat twofer for about 30 min. We saw Kaya(14 months), Jay and dog Shortie ( a sweetie.) At about 10:30 we headed off to the farmers market which is a Sunday ritual of ours( Daddy & Ari). Today there was no pressure to shop since we got one of those CSA boxes and our fridge is full. We went to walk around and sample some fruits, Ari likes grapes, strawberries, apples and today tried and liked persimmon, which I never thought he would. There was a solo musician that was quite good and he didn't play "children's" tunes but folk and pop songs that the kids enjoy. I have a video and if I can figure out how to get it on the blog I would love that.. Ari fell asleep on the way home - literally 5 min after we got in the car about 12 noon. He slept for 2 hours- and this has been consistent since friday - 2 hour naps- it might have even been longer today but I woke him because it was getting late and there is not much time for outside play before it gets cold and dark (though today is a balmy 65.) Mom and Uncle Steve took Ari to the steam trains in Tilden- I can;t wait to hear the report.
